About this file
This is Addendum #1 to a competitive bid solicitation issued by Royal Oak Schools for the renovation of the practice field at Royal Oak High School in Michigan. The project involves synthetic turf installation and associated site work, with an alternate bid option for an additional 10,800 square feet of turf area using Astroturf Rootzone 3D3 52 oz 2" or equivalent material. The original bid due date was revised to Monday, October 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM local time. A pre-bid meeting was held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with an attendee sign-in sheet included. Potential bidders may schedule site visits by contacting Mark Paulus at mark.paulus@royaloakschools.org or (248) 880-6791. The project scope includes excavation and removal of 10 inches of existing soil, installation of drainage systems with specific technical requirements, concrete curbs with wood nailers around turf perimeters, and site restoration. Construction is anticipated to occur between June 5, 2027, and August 6, 2027.
The addendum addresses bidder questions regarding site access, permit costs, irrigation specifications, material storage, and turf specifications. Bidders may access the site from the north off Normandy Avenue, with the contractor responsible for temporary and permanent fencing, site restoration, sidewalk concrete replacement, and base bid inclusion of estimated $4,000 in city permits. Permit costs up to $10,000 are available from a general allowance, excluding permit costs associated with northern site access. The existing irrigation system operates at 2" main line with a 2-wire configuration. Equipment and material laydown is available at a cul-de-sac south of the concession building from June 5, 2027, to August 6, 2027, with all protection and restoration the responsibility of the bidder. Detailed specifications and drainage system designs, including concrete turf anchors, geotextile fabric, and perforated collector piping, are provided in the attached technical drawings.
