About this opportunity
The Rio Nava Soil and Water Conservation District (RNSC) is requesting proposals for an Airfield Manager position under RFP 2026-1177, with proposals due February 25, 2026. Addendum 1 was issued on February 25, 2026, and supersedes or supplements the original RFP requirements; proposers must acknowledge receipt and incorporate its requirements into their responses.
The Airfield Manager is a full-time management role responsible for daily airfield operations, maintenance coordination, runway and taxiway management, equipment and resource oversight, and staff supervision. The position requires extensive knowledge of FAA regulations, airfield operations, and equipment maintenance procedures. Successful candidates must demonstrate significant experience in airfield management or equivalent aviation operations background, along with strong organizational and leadership capabilities, technical knowledge of airfield systems, and budget and personnel management ability. The role involves regular site presence and coordination with airport users, maintenance contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Proposers must respond using the official Proposer Response Form and address evaluation criteria including qualifications, relevant experience in airfield operations and management, understanding of position responsibilities, knowledge of applicable regulations and safety standards, and capability to manage technical and administrative aspects of airfield operations. The response form requires comprehensive documentation of background and demonstrated experience.
Compensation, contract term, benefits, and specific funding allocations are detailed in the RFP specifications and accompanying contract documentation. Site visits and a bidders' conference may be available for respondents seeking detailed information about facility operations and expectations. Proposers are advised to review all attachments including the Position Description (Attachment A), the base RFP 2026-1177, and Addendum 1 to ensure full compliance with current requirements.
