About this opportunity
The City of Watsonville, California is seeking bids for electrical service relocation work at Watsonville River Park, 100 East Front Street, with proposals due November 5, 2026. The scope comprises removal of existing electrical service, construction of new PG&E electrical service infrastructure, installation of electrical conduit to an existing building, and minor concrete work.
Work must comply with PG&E technical standards (Revision 16, effective June 30, 2023) governing overhead and underground panel board construction, including detailed specifications for materials, dimensions, footing depth (minimum 36 inches concrete), conduit bend radius (minimum 24-inch radius for service and secondary conduit, 10-foot sweep radius per inch of conduit diameter), meter height (60–75 inches from final grade), maximum equipment height (84 inches from ground), and minimum 6-inch ground clearance for all equipment. All wood materials must be pressure-treated on all surfaces; metal components require galvanized steel or stainless steel with rust inhibitors. The specifications reference National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance and PG&E's Electric and Gas Service Requirements Manual (Greenbook) and Electric Meter Work Practices (EMWP).
Contractors must furnish and install 23 items per the PG&E material list, including pull boxes, metering equipment, conduit, posts, and grounding components. For underground services exceeding 100 feet, a pull box must be installed between 6 and 30 feet from the panelboard.
The City requires a performance bond at 100% of contract value and a payment bond. Contractors must provide Commercial General Liability insurance naming the City of Watsonville, its officials, and employees as additional insured, with the contractor's coverage primary to any City self-insurance.
No contract value, contract term, incumbent contractor, set-asides, preferences, or evaluation criteria are specified in the available materials.
