About this opportunity
The City of Fort Worth is requesting quotes for bulk rock salt on an as-needed basis for the Transportation and Public Works Department under RFQt 26-0215, with quotes due June 9, 2026. The City's Small Business Program under Ordinance No. 27832-08-2025 applies to this procurement.
Vendors must deliver bulk rock salt to three service centers—South Side, North District, and North Side—within a maximum of 10 business days from order date, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding City-observed holidays. The rock salt must meet defined chemical specifications: sodium chloride content of 93.8–95.0 percent by weight, bulk density of 71–74 pounds per cubic foot, and specified screen analysis requirements with no additives permitted. Material must be non-caking and free-flowing. Bidders must complete a qualification questionnaire providing detailed product specifications as part of their submittal.
The initial contract term is one year with options to renew for up to four additional one-year periods under the same terms and conditions, subject to 90 days' written notice of non-renewal prior to expiration. Pricing shall remain firm for the contract term, including all freight and delivery costs; price adjustments are permitted only on an annual basis upon renewal with 90 days' written notice and documented cost increases.
Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder whose bid is reasonable and in the City's best interest. The City reserves the right to make multiple awards to ensure adequate coverage. Evaluation factors include unit price, total quote price, terms and discounts, delivery date, testing results, vendor performance history, demurrage and freight charges, and estimated maintenance and storage costs. Quotes remain valid for 90 calendar days from opening. Successful bidders must register for direct deposit and submit invoices electronically; payment terms are Net 30 Days. All vendors must submit W-9 forms and Conflict of Interest Questionnaires. The City is tax-exempt; vendors must exclude sales tax from quoted prices.
