About this opportunity
This is a competitive sealed bid procurement issued by Iosco RESA for the construction of a new 40' x 72' pole barn storage facility. The project is structured into two distinct bid categories: Bid Category 1 encompasses earthwork, site utilities, concrete, general trades, joint sealants, metal roofing and accessories, aluminum windows/glazing, and painting, while Bid Category 2 covers all electrical work. Bids must be submitted in triplicate to the Office of the Superintendent, addressed to Mr. Dana McGrew at Iosco RESA, 27 N. Rempert Rd., Tawas City, MI 48763, with a deadline of 3:30 PM on Friday, June 8, 2018, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A prebid conference is scheduled for a date to be determined in 2018 at 3:30 PM at the building site location. Bidders must provide familial disclosure in compliance with MCL 380.1267 with a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationships between the bidder and members of the board, intermediate school board, or superintendent. Plans, specifications, and addendums are available for download from the R.C. Hendrick Plan Room at www.rchendrick.com or may be purchased at $2.00 per drawing sheet and $0.05 per specification page, with technical questions directed to dan@rchendrick.com.
There are no designated set-asides for disadvantaged enterprises or restrictions on organization types eligible to respond to this procurement. Bidders submitting bids exceeding fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) must provide a certified check or bid bond from a surety company approved in Michigan in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. This is not a prevailing wage project, which may reduce labor cost requirements for interested contractors. R.C. Hendrick & Son, Inc. serves as the Construction Manager overseeing the project. Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the bid date of June 8, 2018. The owner reserves the right to reject any, part of any, or all bids. No specific budget range or estimated award value is disclosed in the procurement documents.
