About this opportunity
The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) in Wisconsin is seeking bids for a comprehensive classroom technology upgrade through Request for Bid #4006, targeting G4 schools within the district. The procurement involves purchasing 505 units of 65-inch flat panel televisions, 9 units of 43-inch flat panel televisions, 495 mobile TV stands, and 20 TV wall mounts for classroom installations. While the district has preferred models—LG Electronics 65LX341C and 43LX341C monitors, Peerless Industries SR560M stands, and SP850-UNLP wall mounts—vendors may propose alternative brands that meet or exceed the specified technical requirements. The bid was issued on March 13, 2018, with a submission deadline of April 10, 2018, at 2:00 PM CST, and the contract period will run from April 10, 2018, through May 31, 2018. The evaluation criteria for vendor selection include weighted scoring across multiple categories: 65-inch monitor (25%), 43-inch monitor (10%), TV stands and wall mounts (10%), prior district experience (5%), local vendor status (10%), and overall cost (40%).
The procurement does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, though vendors must demonstrate compliance with the district's Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements. Bidders are required to provide a minimum three-year manufacturer's limited warranty for all flat screen monitors and incorporate shipping costs into their proposals, as the district will not pay shipping separately. The total project involves deliveries to multiple G4 school buildings and the MMSD Central Receiving facility, with orders expected to be placed by May 5, 2018, and delivery to commence by July 7, 2018. While specific budget ranges are not detailed, vendors must submit one original and three copies of bid documentation, including completed certification forms and detailed product specifications. The district maintains full discretionary authority to reject any or all bids without providing a reason and reserves the right to delete specifications if no vendor can meet the requirements. MMSD is tax-exempt (Tax ID: ES42341) and expects vendors to offer governmental and educational pricing discounts.
Opportunity text
The Technical Services Department is seeking pricing for technology that will be installed in classrooms of G4 schools in the District. Each classroom will have a large flat screen HDTV monitor installed on a TV stand on casters, a ceiling mount or a wall mount. The TV stand/mount is part of this RFB. The RFB calls out a 65" flat panel television monitor and 43" flat panel television monitor. Preferred models are described, but are not required to be quoted as long as any models quoted are equal to or better than the specifications for the preferred models. The District is providing vendors with a preferred product for the large flat screen TV monitor and the TV stand. Alternative brands that are bid must be equivalent or better to the preferred models. Detailed specifications information must be provided with the bid response. The District will maintain full discretionary authority and make the final determine regarding whether or not alternative brands are in fact at least equivalent to the preferred models.
