About this opportunity

The Town of Vernon, Connecticut is seeking Redesign/Build Construction Services for a restroom/concession/storage facility at the Windermere Fields Soccer Complex located at 60 Windermere Road in Ellington. The primary project involves constructing a rectangular, 1,500-square-foot building with a gable roof that will contain restrooms, a future concession area, storage, and a utility room. The structure will feature footings/frost walls, with construction options including either a concrete slab on grade, CMU building, or pre-cast concrete elements, complemented by a wood-framed roof and 40-year asphalt shingles. As an additional component, the Request for Proposal (RFP) includes an "add-alternate" item for a separate 200-square-foot standalone restroom building with a utility area. The solicitation was released on November 1, 2023, with proposals due by December 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM EST. Potential vendors must submit any questions to Town Engineer David A. Smith by November 21, 2023, at 3:30 PM, with answers to be posted by November 28, 2023, on both the Town of Vernon's website and the Connecticut State Department of Administrative Services (DAS) portal.

The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the documentation, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure requiring integration. Concept drawings prepared by United Concrete are provided as a general guide for the project's configuration, and the delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination with payment terms to be determined by the vendor. The solicitation does not provide an estimated total value or budget range for the project, leaving financial details to be negotiated during the proposal process. The contract will be awarded by the Town of Vernon, located in Tolland County, Connecticut, with the successful vendor responsible for comprehensive redesign and construction services for this soccer complex facility improvement project.
