About this opportunity
Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is requesting sealed bids for shelf-stable weekend meal packs on an annual contract with four one-year renewal options, with bids due May 25, 2023 by 2:50 p.m. and public opening at 3:00 p.m.
The scope requires pre-assembled weekend packs containing two breakfast meals and four lunch/dinner meals, individually wrapped and packaged as complete units with utensils included. All meals must be shelf-stable and comply with USDA standards and Summer Food Service Program guidelines. The county seeks approximately 7,070 packs annually, with seven weekly deliveries to the Gwinnett County Senior Services Center at 567 Swanson Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia between June 7 and July 26, 2023, with arrival between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Dinners by Derek, LLC, located in Buford, Georgia, was selected as the recommended awardee with a per-pack price of $10.99 and an extended price of $77,699.30 for the initial contract period, lower than competing bids from JA Foodservice Corporation. All bidders must hold active Unique Entity Identifiers and active SAM.gov registration at bid submittal. Vendors must carry minimum general liability and auto liability insurance of $500,000 and comply with E-Verify worker verification and applicable federal requirements. Pricing must remain firm for the initial contract term, with renewal option pricing increases specified not to exceed 2% to 3% annually. Termination for cause requires ten days' written notice; termination for convenience requires thirty days' written notice.
Questions are due by 3:00 p.m. on May 17, 2023. Addendum 1, issued May 10, 2023, revised the bid schedule from per-meal to per-weekend-pack pricing and clarified pack composition and SFSP compliance. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum with their submission or risk non-responsiveness. Vendors currently on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list are prohibited from submitting bids.
