About this opportunity
The City of North Miami Beach is conducting a Sole Source Procurement (SS-2025-041) for the purchase of Bermad Control Valves from PSI Technologies Inc., spanning jurisdictions in Miami-Dade County and Orlando City, Florida. The procurement specifically involves control valve repair and maintenance services for multiple water infrastructure locations, including Well 13, Well 17, Waterplant Lagoon Valve, Operations Center, and Well 21. The solicitation covers various valve sizes and repair kits, with the procurement being non-competitive under City Code Section 3-4.8 and Florida State Statute 287.057 (3)(c). The procurement is scheduled with a response deadline of July 16, 2025, at 3:00 pm EDT, and interested parties are encouraged to submit responses through the e-Procurement Platform. Respondents, particularly distributors and re-sellers, are requested to provide statements about their capability to provide the requested goods and include manufacturer's authorization documentation. The sole source justification is predicated on factors such as standardization, warranty, and unique vendor capabilities.
The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. PSI Technologies Inc. is confirmed as the exclusive authorized distributor and service provider for Bermad products in the Southeast region of Florida, as evidenced by a distribution letter from BERMAD USA dated April 21, 2025. A distribution letter confirms PSI Technologies' exclusive representative status for BERMAD Water Control Valves, Air Valves, and Mag Meters in Florida counties east of Tallahassee. The anticipated procurement cost is $67,700.00, covering critical hydraulic valves across key water infrastructure locations, including raw water lines, injection wells, and finished water lines. The procurement aims to maintain continuity and efficiency of the Norwood Water Plant by ensuring access to proprietary parts and specialized rebuild kits. While the solicitation is not a traditional competitive bid, it provides an opportunity for vendors to demonstrate their capabilities and potentially influence future procurement strategies.
