About this opportunity

Palm Beach County, Florida is establishing a pre-qualified vendor list for electrical supplies and equipment through Request for Pre-Qualification (RPQ) #21-028/KP, with applications accepted on a rolling basis and a due date of June 7, 2026. The procurement seeks vendors capable of supplying comprehensive electrical products including wire, conduit, lighting fixtures, control devices, and related equipment from over 110 specified manufacturers. Pre-qualified vendors must demonstrate business stability, financial capability, product quality standards, relevant industry experience, adequate inventory capacity, current business licensing, appropriate insurance coverage (including general liability and workers' compensation), and the ability to meet state specifications and delivery timelines. Vendors will be evaluated based on their demonstrated experience in electrical supplies and equipment distribution, proof of financial stability, product certifications, compliance with Florida procurement regulations, and ability to provide competitive pricing and timely delivery. Selected vendors must deliver stock items within twenty-four hours and non-stock items within five calendar days after receipt of a delivery order, with F.O.B. designated as destination. The pre-qualification process does not guarantee minimum purchases or exclusive supplier status but rather establishes a pool of qualified vendors from which Palm Beach County and participating state agencies may select based on specific requirements and pricing competitiveness. Vendors must also comply with E-Verify employment eligibility requirements and maintain current licenses and certifications throughout their pre-qualified status.

Palm Beach County provides a five percent local preference discount for vendors based within the county and a five percent Glades local preference for qualifying Glades businesses. Small, minority, and women-owned business enterprises (S/M/WBE) that are certified by Palm Beach County are eligible for preference consideration when their bids fall within ten percent of the lowest responsive, responsible bid. All vendors must register in the County's Vendor Self Service system, obtain required business tax receipts and certifications, and adhere to commercial non-discrimination policies. The anticipated contract value over the sixty-month term is four million dollars, though the actual amount may vary based on County requirements; individual projects shall not exceed $99,999, with any project meeting or exceeding $100,000 to be separately solicited through formal competitive sealed bidding. Payment shall be made upon receipt, acceptance, and proper invoicing of goods, with the Florida Prompt Payment Act governing interest penalties. The contract term is sixty months or until the estimated funding is expended, with Palm Beach County reserving the right to increase, decrease, or re-advertise for goods and services as needed.
