About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation is soliciting qualifications for two on-call engineering support services contracts for cable stayed bridge and tunnel inspection, maintenance, and design support, with statements of qualifications due September 28, 2026 and the RFQ to be issued August 27, 2026.
Contract 1 provides on-call complex structures engineering services, including inspection and maintenance of two cable stayed bridge structures and tunnels under limited supervision. Contract 2 provides on-call engineering and inspection support services for the design and development of transportation facilities, including highway construction, maintenance, and operational support. Both contracts require prime consultants to assemble teams with five key leaders: a lead bridge engineer, a lead bridge inspector, a lead tunnel engineer (Contract 1) or roadway engineer (Contract 2), a load rate/test engineer or load rating lead, and a QA/QC engineer.
Both contracts require identical area class competencies for the prime consultant, including documentation, historical studies, air quality and noise studies, ecological and archaeological surveys, bridge design and inspection capabilities, land and engineering surveying, and soil and foundation studies. The RFQ will designate which area classes are mandatory for the prime consultant versus team members.
Contract pricing, contract term, funding sources, renewal options, and any set-asides will be included in the formal RFQ documentation to be posted August 27, 2026. GDOT reserves the right to modify all information provided in this notice during RFQ issuance. No questions or submittals are accepted during the PNA phase. Prospective contractors should direct inquiries to Andrea Everson at the GDOT Office of Procurement Engineering and Design Services at 404-631-1549 or aeverson@dot.ga.gov. Bidders are prohibited from communicating with GDOT staff regarding the solicitation between RFQ issuance and award announcement, except through designated channels and authorized questions.
