About this opportunity

Grand County, Utah is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to perform pavement preservation and maintenance on approximately 10.5 miles of paved pathways across the Moab Canyon Corridor, Colorado River Corridor, and Lions Park perimeter pathway, with proposals due September 28, 2026.

The scope encompasses crack sealing, wide-crack mastic repair, surface preparation, two applications of seal coat with traction agent, and pavement striping on an estimated 800,000 square feet of paved surface. Pavement striping includes concrete sections; concrete repair and refurbishment are excluded. Work must comply with Utah APWA Manual of Standard Specifications and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The County prefers Maxwell Products for crack-seal and mastic materials but permits equivalent products meeting specified performance requirements. All labor, supervision, materials, equipment, transportation, traffic control, cleanup, and incidentals are the contractor's responsibility. The successful contractor must submit all prices as not-to-exceed amounts for the entire project and must verify existing conditions and quantities during site inspection before proposal submission.

Work is restricted to Monday through Friday during daylight hours; no weekend work is permitted. The project is subject to environmental constraints due to proximity to Arches National Park and Utah Division of Natural Resources-managed property, with all construction activity limited to paved surfaces unless specifically authorized.

Evaluation will prioritize the responsive and responsible contractor offering the best combination of qualifications, experience, material quality, project schedule, and total project cost. The County reserves the right to adjust quantities within the approved not-to-exceed amount based on actual field conditions.

Contractors seeking .kml files for the Colorado River Bike Path and Moab Canyon Pathway should email cmckinney@grandcountyutah.gov. Site inspection and contractor verification of conditions are strongly encouraged before proposal submission.
