About this opportunity
Sarasota County is pursuing a sole source procurement for parts and repair of traffic control equipment through Transportation Control Systems, Inc. The procurement specifically covers equipment from manufacturers including Global Traffic Technologies, Transportation Control Systems, Unipart Dorman, GE Current LED's, Siemens Rugged Comm switches, Pelco Intelicross push buttons, Bosch ITS, and TrafficCast BlueTOAD. The county is seeking authorized vendors to supply parts, service, and repairs for specialized traffic signal and transportation infrastructure components, with a focus on maintaining existing systems. The solicitation was released on April 29, 2025, with a deadline for questions on May 1, 2025, and responses due by May 2, 2025, at 5:00 pm through an electronic procurement portal. The county reserves the right to cancel the sole source procurement and pursue a competitive solicitation if other vendors can demonstrate the ability to supply equivalent products or services. Vendors must be specifically authorized by Bosch Security Systems LLC to sell the specified products and services.
The procurement is restricted to vendors with explicit authorization from Bosch Security Systems LLC, effectively limiting potential respondents. Transportation Control Systems, Inc. is currently the designated sole source distributor for the Bosch ITS product line in Florida, as confirmed by a distribution agreement dated April 24, 2025. The estimated annual expenditure for this procurement is $50,000, with the contract period running from June 9, 2024, to June 8, 2025. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned in the documentation. The existing infrastructure is primarily Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) compliant equipment, with much of the current system already in place. Vendors interested in providing alternative solutions must complete an Intent to Sole Source Response form and upload supporting documentation. The procurement is being managed by the Sarasota County Office of Financial Management, with Sofia Salazar serving as the procurement specialist and point of contact.
