Bidders must submit a 5 percent bid bond (in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, cash, or bid bond), complete bid schedule, and proposed subcontractor form; failure to include these documents will result in bid disqualification.
Contractors selected for this project must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of $2,000,000 per occurrence, workers' compensation coverage at statutory limits, automobile liability insurance of $2,000,000 combined single limits, and completed operations coverage for two years following project completion; performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price are required prior to contract execution. The project is not federally funded and does not require prevailing wage rates or payroll submittal, meaning no prevailing wage restrictions apply to this procurement. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $500.00 per day for late contract completion, $250.00 per day for late punch list completion, and $500.00 per day for any utility service interruptions caused by the contractor without engineer approval. Contractors are prohibited from subcontracting more than 75 percent of the total work dollar value without owner approval, and all proposed subcontractors must be identified within 24 hours of the engineer's request. No specific award value or budget range has been disclosed in the solicitation documents, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified; interested bidders should contact the Public Services Director for budget and project cost information prior to bid submission.
