About this opportunity

New Milford Public Schools in Connecticut is requesting proposals for a turn-key Stage Lighting and Rigging System upgrade at New Milford High School under RFP E-2627-002, with proposals due October 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM and a mandatory pre-bid site visit on September 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

The scope encompasses removal of existing legacy equipment and design, supply, installation, and commissioning of modern lighting fixtures, power/data distribution, control systems, and structural rigging elements. Base bid items include removal of fluorescent work lights with installation of new LED work lights featuring dual control integration, separation and reweighting of existing linesets, removal of an old projector screen, modifications to wing leg configurations, realignment of curtain systems, transfer of upstage traveler track hardware, installation of a main curtain valance pipe, and core drilling for cable pathways. Optional add-alternates include additional masking, side tormentors, and motorized front-of-house trusses, plus unit pricing for additional linesets (up to approximately 10 total, with 2 included in base). All structural rigging components and overhead hardware must be domestically manufactured, load-rated, and permanently stamped with Working Load Limit markings. All proposals must comply with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and ANSI/ESTA standards, and the selected contractor must submit a comprehensive Health and Safety Plan for approval before work commencement.

Pricing must be all-inclusive of engineering, labor, materials, equipment rentals, disposal fees, shipping, permits, and training, submitted as separate lump-sum pricing for each base bid item with add-alternate pricing on the itemized bid form. The District is tax-exempt and will not pay federal, state, or local taxes, which must be excluded from all pricing. The selected bidder must provide Worker's Compensation Insurance (statutory limits with Employer's Liability at $500,000 minimum), General Liability Insurance ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate plus $1,000,000 umbrella coverage), and Property Damage Insurance ($1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate). Questions are due September 25, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Proposals must remain valid for ninety calendar days from submission. Contract award is contingent upon availability of District funding, which may be terminated with thirty days' advance written notice if funds become insufficient. The District reserves the right to phase equipment procurement and does not guarantee purchase of all listed items; all unit pricing must remain fixed regardless of final quantities ordered.
