About this opportunity
The School Board of Marion County, Florida is soliciting bids for a term contract to procure new and used books, educational materials, and related items through Bid 4127AM. The procurement seeks to establish firm, fixed percentage education discounts for purchasing textbooks, workbooks, audio books, e-books, library books, classroom books, magazines, publications, and ancillary educational materials on an as-needed basis. Vendors must provide a firm fixed percentage discount from their website, web portal, current catalog, or in-store pricing, with specific exclusions for technology items, furniture, security systems, curriculum manipulatives, office supplies, and online services requiring data sharing agreements. The bid response deadline is July 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with board approval scheduled for August 26, 2025. The initial contract term runs from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026, with potential renewals for three additional one-year periods. Vendors are required to submit various forms, including a proposal form, drug-free workplace certification, and debarment certification through the VendorLink platform.
The procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The School Board reserves the right to bid separately on any items deemed in the district's best interest and will not consider discounts from other existing contracts. No incumbent vendors are specifically identified in the documentation. The contract aims to provide a flexible purchasing mechanism for educational materials, with discounts remaining firm throughout the contract term and any renewals. While no specific budget range is provided, the procurement allows for sales promotions with potentially greater price reductions. The School Board conducted a preliminary review of state purchasing agreements to ensure economic advantage, indicating a comprehensive approach to sourcing educational materials. Vendors must demonstrate the ability to provide consistent pricing, comprehensive product offerings, and compliance with the specified terms and conditions.
