About this opportunity

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), acting on behalf of 13 regional planning agencies across Massachusetts and their constituent cities, towns, and school districts, is requesting proposals for local seafood products suitable for K-12 student populations, with proposals due June 30, 2026 at 4:00 PM via CommBUYS. Addendum 1, issued June 8, 2026, corrected the due date published in legal notices; all other RFP terms remain unchanged.

The participating regional planning agencies are the Nantucket Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission, Martha's Vineyard Commission, Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, Franklin Regional Council of Governments, Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, Montachusett Regional Planning Commission, Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District, Cape Cod Commission, Old Colony Planning Council, Northern Middlesex Council of Governments, and Merrimack Valley Planning Commission.

A vendor conference is scheduled for June 16, 2026 at 12:30 PM via Zoom. The scope requires local seafood products meeting the dietary and sourcing needs of school districts across the participating regions; specific product specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements are contained in the full RFP documentation.

The initial contract term runs from execution through June 30, 2027, with one optional one-year renewal at MAPC's sole discretion. MAPC will award contracts to eligible, responsive, and responsible vendors offering the most advantageous proposals. No bid bond is required. Pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, and other financial requirements are detailed in the full RFP, not in the legal notice.
