About this opportunity

Bristol Community College is requesting sealed bids on window replacement at the Seigel Health Technologies Building in Fall River, Massachusetts (Project M-01-27), with general bids due October 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EDT and a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit on September 16, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. EDT. General bidders must hold current DCAMM certification in the Doors and Windows category; filed sub-bidders in Masonry and Waterproofing/Dampproofing/Caulking trades must hold DCAMM certification for their respective trades. MBE/WBE/VBE participation benchmarks are 4% MBE, 9% WBE, and 3% VBE; workforce participation benchmarks are 6.9% women and 15.3% minorities.

The scope encompasses removal and replacement of windows, storefronts, and egress doors; removal and rebuilding of cracked and deteriorated brick and masonry at window and door heads, jambs, and sills; installation of new aluminum windows and storefronts; installation of new roller window shades; and repairs to existing modified bituminous membrane roofing. The building is fully occupied during construction, including a daycare facility operating 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday year-round except local public school holidays. A Limited Asbestos Determination Survey dated March 19, 2026 identified asbestos-containing materials including white caulk (15% chrysotile), window glaze (5–20% chrysotile), and gray caulk. All aluminum windows and storefronts scheduled for removal are presumed to contain both asbestos and PCBs. Contractors must furnish and install CMU for new knee walls (Owner furnishes CMU for spot replacement), submit their own phasing plan working one elevation at a time, and ensure each opening is secured against weather and vandalism within the same workday.

Estimated contract value is $1.9 million. A bid deposit of not less than 5% of the greatest possible bid amount, including all alternates, must accompany bids. Bids must be submitted electronically through www.biddocs.com; hard copy bids will not be accepted. Filed sub-bids for Masonry and Waterproofing/Dampproofing/Caulking are due September 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. RFIs are due September 18, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. EDT for filed sub-bids and September 25, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. EDT for general bids. Three addenda have been issued; Addendum 3 posted September 28, 2026 modifies specifications and drawings. All bidding is subject to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, Sections 44A–J and minimum wage requirements under Sections 26–27H.
