About this opportunity
Gilmer County Board of Commissioners is seeking to procure a specialized emergency vehicle through a competitive bid process. The procurement involves acquiring one 2024-2025 rear mount aerial fire truck with specific technical requirements, including a diesel engine and a minimum 1500 GPM pump capacity. Potential bidders can obtain detailed specifications by contacting County Clerk Edwina Daman via electronic mail at edaman@gilmercounty-ga.gov. The bid submission deadline is February 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with sealed bids to be submitted to the Gilmer County Commissioners Office at 1 Broad Street, Suite 106, Ellijay, GA 30540. Bidders should clearly mark their envelope with "2024-2025 rear mount aerial fire truck (Diesel) stick or platform" and are advised that no bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the bid opening. Interested parties with technical questions are directed to contact Deputy Fire Chief Jason Bryant at 706-502-3880 or jbryant@gilmercounty-ga.gov.
The county reserves significant discretion in the bid evaluation process, including the right to reject any or all bids, accept complete or partial bids, and select bidders based on what the commissioners determine to be in the best interest of the county. While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are mentioned, potential bidders should be prepared for a comprehensive technical and financial evaluation. The procurement appears to be open to standard fire apparatus manufacturers and suppliers capable of meeting the specified technical requirements. No specific budget range or estimated contract value is disclosed in the available documentation. Gilmer County's approach suggests flexibility in the procurement process, with the ability to accept partial bids from multiple vendors and potential negotiation of contract terms.
