About this opportunity
The Texas Department of Public Safety is requesting bids on portable fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance services for the Irving Waiver Center in Irving, Texas, under IFB 26R0017907A, with bids due July 30, 2026. The contract term is five years beginning September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2031.
The scope covers annual inspections, recharging, hydrostatic testing, and replacement of ABC, CO2, and Halon fire extinguishers at the Irving Waiver Center facility (approximately 8,462 square feet at 1613 West Irving Boulevard, Dallas County). All work must comply with NFPA 10 standards and state and local requirements. The contractor must submit inspection pricing per extinguisher type and weight category, hydrostatic testing rates, replacement extinguisher costs, and parts pricing structured as cost-plus-markup percentages for each contract year. Pricing is itemized across 28 line items covering service types and extinguisher categories. The contractor must possess factory training, certification, or applicable trade licenses; maintain inventory for timely service delivery; provide daily reporting to the DPS Contract Monitor; submit inspection reports via email following each service; and assume full responsibility for employee safety, property damage liability, and one-year warranty of work. Invoices are due by the fifth of each month for the prior month's services.
Bidders must submit a W-9 form, complete the Texas DPS Information and Certifications Form (including HUB status declaration and compliance certifications covering child support, foreign adversary restrictions, suspension and debarment status, E-Verify, cybersecurity training, and Iran and terrorist organization restrictions), and comply with the DPS Standard Terms and Conditions. DPS reserves the right to terminate for convenience with 30 days' notice and retains no obligation to guarantee minimum compensation or exclusivity. Responses may be submitted through the DPS Online Bid Room or alternative methods identified in the solicitation package; vendors must register in advance to allow two business days for credential processing before the deadline.
