About this opportunity
Columbia School District in Brooklyn, Michigan is requesting sealed bids for athletic equipment installation and electrical power infrastructure at Columbia Central Senior High School under an IFB with bids due October 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM Eastern, and an optional pre-bid meeting on October 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM Eastern.
The scope comprises two work categories: installation of baseball and softball field netting systems across five fields, and electrical power infrastructure at the facility. The athletic equipment scope requires full installation of 20 galvanized steel poles (four per field, minimum 26 feet in length with 20 feet exposed, painted black with vinyl coating) with cabling and netting manufactured and installed by NET CONNECTION of Trussville, Alabama or an approved equivalent, running approximately 80 feet down baselines and backstops. The electrical scope includes 110V GFI receptacles at multiple dugout locations (visitor dugout: one dual receptacle; home dugout: two dual receptacles; varsity softball dugouts: two dual receptacles each), underground conduit installation from electrical panels to dugout locations, scoreboard hookup infrastructure, trench backfilling, and landscape restoration with minimum four inches of topsoil and seed. All work requires field verification of locations by the contractor in coordination with district representatives, compliance with electrical codes, coordination with Miss Dig 811 at least three working days before construction, and investigation and protection of existing utilities with contractor responsibility for damage.
Bidders must submit a single lump-sum proposal via BuildingConnected and complete prequalification through TradeTapp, including general company information, financial documents, three completed reference projects of similar size and complexity, and the last three years of Worker's Compensation Experience Modification Ratings. Bid security in the form of bonds is required; certified checks are acceptable only for proposals under $50,000. Pre-bid questions are due October 20, 2026 at 1:00 PM Eastern. Construction commences November 16, 2026, with project completion targeted for December 18, 2026, subject to weather and extension as necessary. Granger Construction Company is the project manager.
