About this file

This scope of work document pertains to athletic equipment installation for the Columbia School District in Michigan, specifically detailing the requirements for baseball and softball field netting systems across five fields. The project requires full installation of four galvanized steel poles, cabling, and netting at each of the five fields, with 20 poles total to be installed. Each pole must measure a minimum of 26 feet in length with 20 feet exposed above grade, painted black with vinyl coating, and spaced according to site drawings with two poles at backstop corners and two down baselines. The netting system must be manufactured and installed by NET CONNECTION of Trussville, Alabama or an approved equivalent, running approximately 80 feet down each baseline and along the backstop, with the exact dimensions requiring field verification by the contractor in coordination with Columbia Central School District representatives.

The scope specifies that all netting systems must function as complete installations with detailed design-assist specifications including removable netting attachments, structural framework, and foundations. The contractor is responsible for all excavation, concrete work, and backfill required for pole installation, as well as landscape restoration of disturbed areas with a minimum of four inches of topsoil and seed. The netting must be clipped taut onto cables running along the top, bottom, and sides of the poles, contour to existing backstops and fencing, and attach to backstops, fence tops, and dugout tops. The contractor must coordinate continuously with interfacing trades and other contract categories and field verify all locations, layouts, and dimensions prior to installation commencement.
