About this opportunity
Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey, is soliciting bids for Intercollegiate Bus Transportation Services under Public Bid No. P-2419. The college requires charter bus transportation services to support its intercollegiate athletics programs, with bidders required to provide a fleet including standard coach buses with 56-passenger capacity and smaller buses accommodating 14-25 passengers. All vehicles must meet Department of Transportation regulations, maintain clean restroom facilities, provide ample storage for athletic equipment and luggage, and include drivers fluent in English who meet stated qualifications. The contract period runs from September 1, 2026, through May 30, 2027, with an optional renewal period from September 1, 2027, through May 30, 2028. Bergen Community College will cover driver hotel accommodations separately for overnight trips and will pay only for actual hours of service provided, including all travel time, mileage, and fuel. Bidders must include a $25 daily gratuity per trip in their unit costs and submit proof of liability insurance. Evaluation will be based on the lowest total cost for approximately 55 trips, comprising approximately 30 larger bus trips and 20-25 smaller bus trips, with separate unit pricing required for each bus size. Electronic bids must be submitted through the Euna-Bonfire platform at https://bergenbids.com by 10:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with a question deadline of Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 12:00 noon, and anticipated contract award at the May 2026 Board of Trustees meeting.
All bidders and subcontractors must provide a Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury demonstrating active registration with the state at the time of bid submission, and must comply with New Jersey employment opportunity regulations (N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.). Bidders are required to submit Form No. 00810C, the Equal Employment Opportunities Response Sheet for General Service Contracts, along with their bid. Additionally, all bidders must submit Americans with Disabilities Act responses, insurance documentation, and certifications regarding suspension or debarment status and investment activities in Iran and Russia/Belarus. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the bid documents. This is an open-ended contract with quantities and dollar amounts as estimates; the Board of Trustees reserves the right to increase quantities by up to 20 percent or decrease by up to 100 percent. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the solicitation documents; however, the contract is valued based on approximately 55 trips at varying unit prices for 56-passenger and 15-passenger capacity buses. The college reserves the right to cancel trips with 24 hours' advance notice due to inclement weather, poor attendance, or other circumstances, with no cancellation fees permitted for weather-related cancellations.
