Leaves will be collected from the Town's curbside program and deposited at three designated bin sites: Nye Street Firehouse (off West Street), Church Street parking lot, and Legion Field (off Regan Road). The Vernon Department of Public Works will load leaves into the contractor's trucks. The contract covers one leaf collection season, typically October through December 2026, with a potential one-year renewal option at the Town Administrator's discretion upon thirty days' written notice.

Bidders must submit pricing for hauling rate per cubic yard, disposal fee per cubic yard, total fee per cubic yard, and disposal fee for Town vehicles' direct hauls per cubic yard. Bid security of not less than 5% of the total bid in the form of a bid bond or certified check is required. Bidders must provide references from four or more municipalities for comparable services. All material removal must go to a licensed disposal facility; vendor slips numbered, dated, and signed by a Town DPW loader verify performance. Two sealed proposal copies must be submitted to John W. Kleinhans, Town Administrator, 14 Park Place, 3rd Floor, Vernon, Connecticut 06066. Public bid opening occurs September 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Electronic and late submissions are not accepted.
