About this opportunity

Southgate Community Schools is seeking competitive proposals for comprehensive renovations to the Gerisch School Baseball and Softball Fields located at 12601 McCann Ave, Southgate, Michigan. The project, part of the district's 2020 Bond Program, involves three primary components: fencing renovations, concrete work, and bleacher/bench replacements. Specific deliverables include demolishing and replacing existing fencing for softball and baseball fields, installing new backstops with 18'-0" high bases and 6'-0" high angled panels, adding maintenance gates, extending baseline fences, and creating new outfield fencing configurations. Concrete work encompasses pouring new dugout pads, replacing existing pathways, and creating maintenance access approaches. The project also requires installing new aluminum benches and two sets of bleachers for the softball field, with each bleacher set consisting of six rows and 20-foot width. Key proposal submission dates include a non-mandatory virtual pre-proposal meeting on September 9th, 2024, at 10:00 am EST, with proposals due on September 20th, 2024, at 1:00 pm EST. Evaluation criteria will focus on team experience, capabilities, fee structure, project schedule, client references, and overall team professionalism.

The procurement does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Contractors must submit several mandatory documents, including a sworn and notarized familial relationship disclosure, an Iran Disclosure Statement, Criminal Background Disclosure Affidavit, and a Non-Collusive Affidavit. The project requires comprehensive background checks on all personnel, including ICHAT verification, with strict prohibitions against employing registered sexual offenders or those convicted of listed offenses. While specific budget details are not provided in the documentation, the comprehensive nature of the renovations suggests a substantial infrastructure investment. Contractors will be required to manage all aspects of the project, including progress meetings, status reporting, quality control, site logistics, and project closeout activities, with work confined to normal business hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) and potential overtime to meet project timelines. The contract includes base bid and alternate options for various renovation components, providing flexibility for potential bidders in their proposal submissions.
