About this file

The document is an Iran Economic Sanctions Act Affidavit associated with the Southgate Community Schools Request for Proposal (RFP) for Gerisch Baseball & Softball Field Renovations located at 12601 McCann Ave, Southgate, Michigan. The project involves comprehensive field renovations including fencing, concrete work, and bleacher installations for both softball and baseball fields. Specific renovation components include demolishing existing fencing, installing new backstops with 18'-0" high bases and 6'-0" high angled panels, adding maintenance and dugout gates, replacing chain link fencing around dugouts and outfields, extending baseline fences, and installing new concrete pads in home and visitor dugouts. The project also includes replacing existing pathways, adding maintenance access concrete approaches, and installing new aluminum benches and bleacher sets for both softball and baseball areas.

The affidavit requires contractors to certify they are not an "Iran linked business" under Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012, with significant financial penalties for false certifications, including potential fines up to $250,000 or twice the contract value and ineligibility to bid on future proposals for three years. While specific budget details are not provided, the comprehensive nature of the renovations suggests a substantial infrastructure investment by the school district. The project appears to be funded through the Southgate Community Schools' capital improvement or facilities maintenance budget, with the goal of upgrading athletic facilities for baseball and softball programs.
