About this opportunity

Berrien County, Georgia is seeking sealed bids for the FY 2025 LMIG (Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant) Roadway Resurfacing project, which involves comprehensive roadway improvements across multiple county roads. The procurement specifically requires a contractor to complete 5.49 miles of roadway construction, including resurfacing, patching, and striping, with all associated project measures. The project has a strict timeline, mandating 90 consecutive calendar days for substantial completion and 104 consecutive calendar days for total contract closeout. Bidding documents can be obtained from Watkins & Associates, L.L.C. in Tifton, Georgia, at a non-refundable cost of $300.00 per set. Sealed bids will be received at the Berrien County Board of Commissioners located at 201 N Davis Street, Nashville, GA, with a firm submission deadline of 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Bid documents can be examined at the county commissioners' office or at Watkins & Associates during business hours, and no bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the closing time for bid receipt.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents, the project appears to be open to qualified contractors capable of completing the roadway resurfacing work. The total project budget is not directly specified, but the procurement suggests a substantial infrastructure investment through the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program. Interested bidders must demonstrate technical capability to complete the comprehensive roadway construction, which includes complex resurfacing and associated infrastructure improvements. The procurement will be awarded as a single contract, with the successful bidder required to provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to complete the roadway improvements. Prospective bidders should be prepared to meet the technical specifications outlined in the construction drawings and be capable of executing the project within the prescribed 90-104 calendar day timeline.
