About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens under Documented Quote DQ 2027000002, with quotes due July 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and written inquiries due by July 6, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The scope requires USDA Grade A fresh eggs in brown or white varieties, medium or large loose pack, in cases of 15 or 30 dozen. Eggs must be stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery and maintained at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The initial delivery week is July 13–17, 2026, to three locations: Central Warehouse in Canon City, Limon Correctional Facility in Limon, and Sterling Correctional Facility in Sterling, Colorado. Exhibit D specifies total quantities of 180 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 360 cases of 15-dozen eggs) across six CDOC facilities. All pricing must be itemized and all-inclusive with no additional shipping, surcharges, or taxes; delivery is FOB Destination. The awarded brand will be the only brand accepted, with no substitutions permitted. Incomplete orders or three separate non-deliveries within the agreed timeframe may result in vendor disqualification from all future CDOC solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
Price and cost are the primary evaluation factors; other considerations include sample quality and lead time. The contract term is one year with pricing firm during the Purchase Order term. Bidders must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and submit all exhibits A through F. Bidders must register with Bidnet Direct at bidnetdirect.com/cdoc to submit electronically and in CORE through Vendor Self Service at www.colorado.gov/vss before award. All contractor personnel must complete an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of award notification. Proof of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State and an insurance certificate are required prior to Purchase Order execution. Commercial general liability insurance with $1 million minimum limits and workers compensation are required. The Notice of Intent to Award and Purchase Order execution are estimated for July 9, 2026.
