About this opportunity

The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens under Documented Quote DQ 2026000509, with quotes due June 11, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and written inquiries due by June 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.

Eggs must meet U.S. Grade A specifications, be brown or white, in medium or large loose pack in 15 or 30 dozen cases per unit, USDA inspected, and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. The total quantity ordered is 300 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 600 cases of 15-dozen as an alternative), to be delivered during the week of June 15–18, 2026 across three facilities: Buena Vista Correctional Complex (60 cases), Central Warehouse in Canon City (120 cases), and Sterling Correctional Facility (120 cases). All deliveries must arrive at no more than 45 degrees Fahrenheit, FOB Destination with freight prepaid. The awarded brand will be the brand expected for delivery with no substitutions accepted.

Pricing must be all-inclusive with no additional shipping, surcharges, or taxes paid by the Department; bidders must incorporate transportation costs into proposals and submit itemized pricing per case. The purchase order is anticipated to be executed on June 11, 2026 with the term covering ordered quantities delivered on a weekly basis thereafter. Price is the primary evaluation consideration, though sample quality and lead time for delivery may also be evaluated.

Bidders must register in CORE through Vendor Self Service and register with BidNet Direct to submit quotes electronically. All quotes must include completed Exhibits A through F (statement of work, required vendor information, W-9, price quote, contract performance disclosure, and non-conflict of interest certification). Prior to purchase order execution, the awarded bidder must provide proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, an insurance certificate meeting CDOC requirements including $1 million commercial general liability minimum, and complete enhanced criminal background investigations within 30 days. Vendors failing to deliver on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may be deemed non-responsible and disqualified from future solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
