About this opportunity

The City of Sanford, located in Seminole County, Florida, issued an Informal Request for Quote (IRFQ 25/26-301) for the First Street Archway Repair project targeting the historic downtown's south entry wall. The procurement seeks a qualified contractor to evaluate and repair damage to a specific architectural element, with precise requirements including careful demolition and removal of an existing brick column measuring approximately 4' x 2' x 17'5", and subsequent installation of modular brick matching the General Shale (Boral) Bayou brick in size, texture, and color. Key deliverables encompass full Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) setup for two weeks, including sidewalk closure, signage, barricades, and lane shift configuration, along with comprehensive labor, materials, job-related trash removal, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The solicitation was released on October 29, 2025, with a response deadline of December 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM local time, and mandated site inspections for all potential bidders. Contractors were required to submit itemized pricing for materials, labor rates, MOT setup, and cleanup costs, with pricing to remain firm for the initial contract term.

The solicitation did not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The procurement process resulted in a single bid from Booth's Cobblestones of Winter Park, Florida, with a total contract amount of $34,751.50, broken down into itemized categories including $3,105.00 for itemized list, $27,000.00 for labor hours, $3,751.50 for MOT setup, and $895.00 for cleanup. The City of Sanford issued a Notice of Intent to Award to Booth's Cobblestones on December 23, 2025, with the understanding that the award is subject to final approval and does not constitute a binding agreement until a formal contract is executed. Bidders were required to submit comprehensive documentation, including proof of insurance, compliance certificates, vendor forms, state licenses, and references from three similar projects completed within the last three years. The project scope indicates a relatively short completion timeline of two to three weeks from purchase order issuance, with payment terms set at net 30 days upon delivery and acceptance in accordance with the Prompt Payment Act.
