About this opportunity
The University of North Texas System (UNTS) is seeking proposals for a Fire Alarm System Job Order Contract (JOC) through this Request for Proposal (RFP). UNTS intends to select multiple vendors who specialize in fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and fire suppression system services, including inspections, remedial work, and minor renovations. The selected vendors may be awarded projects managed by UNTS or any of its component institutions, including the University of North Texas (UNT), the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), and the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD). The initial contract term is 36 months with two one-year renewal options, and the resulting pricing, terms, and conditions shall be extended to any other interested institutions of higher education. Proposals must include hourly labor rates for various technician and supervisor roles during regular, after-hours, and holiday work, as well as a percentage markup on materials. The maximum cumulative value of the contract is $7 million, with a cap of $1 million per individual job order. Proposals are due by July 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM CDT, and UNTS will evaluate them based on pricing, contractor experience, references, responsibility, safety record, and other best value criteria.
The RFP requires a HUB Subcontracting Plan for all projects under this agreement, regardless of size or scope, in accordance with the State of Texas requirements. The desired HUB goal for projects is also specified. No pricing escalation will be allowed during the contract term, and vendors must be registered in the Jaggaer system at no cost. The selected vendors will be assessed on a rotational or qualifications basis as necessary for a given project, and the contract may be awarded to multiple vendors.
