About this opportunity
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District is seeking a comprehensive elevator and escalator preventative maintenance and service contract for its facilities. The procurement targets a dedicated equipment technician/mechanic, referred to as the "Resident Mechanic," who will be responsible for daily equipment startup at all district locations, completing tasks by 8:30am Monday through Friday. Specific service requirements include preventative maintenance through direct inspection, lubrication, and adjustment of equipment parts, with all maintenance to be performed by trained personnel directly employed by the contracting firm. Vendors must possess a State of Florida Certified Elevator Technician License to be eligible. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for January 8, 2025, at 9am, with mandatory RSVP required through PlanetBids by January 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Interested vendors must submit all documentation and bids electronically through the PlanetBids platform, with the final bid submission deadline set for February 28, 2025.
The solicitation covers Orange County, Florida, and appears to have specific considerations for vendor diversity, including potential preferences for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses. While specific award values are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the contract involves comprehensive maintenance services for district elevator and escalator equipment across multiple locations. The procurement emphasizes electronic bidding transparency and encourages broad participation through a free vendor registration process on the PlanetBids platform. No incumbent vendor information was provided in the available documents. The contract will require the selected vendor to maintain a dedicated on-site technician capable of performing startup, standby, preventative maintenance, and repair services, with a focus on ensuring continuous operational readiness for district parking and other elevator and escalator systems.
