About this opportunity
The City of St. Petersburg is seeking responses from qualified vendors to supply dry cell batteries to its Consolidated Warehouse on an as-needed basis, with responses due July 30, 2026 at 3:00 PM and questions due July 22, 2026.
The scope comprises six line items: D batteries (1,372 units annually), 9-volt batteries (788 units), AA batteries (11,343 units), C batteries (875 units), lithium AA batteries (588 units), and AAA batteries (8,000 units). All batteries are specified by manufacturer and product code with no substitutions permitted. Delivery is included in pricing. The City will award to a single vendor and reserves the right to award on a split-order, lump-sum, or individual item basis.
Preferred qualifications include a minimum of one year of experience providing dry cell batteries, ability to obtain required insurance, freedom from legal or regulatory impediments, and capability to maintain minimum inventory levels as prescribed by the City and to receive and acknowledge purchase orders electronically. All submittals are subject to Florida public records laws after 30 days from opening.
The initial contract term is three years from execution, with the City reserving the right to renew for two additional one-year periods under the same terms and conditions with mutual written agreement. Vendors must provide unit costs and total costs for each line item.
No set-asides are specified. The solicitation is open to all qualified vendors, including small business enterprises and minority-owned and women-owned business enterprises. A Subcontractor Utilization Plan is required, though participation by SBEs, WBEs, veteran-owned businesses, and MBEs is entirely voluntary with no minimum participation levels required as a condition of contract award.
Vendors must comply with Florida corporate registration requirements, E-Verify obligations, and provide a certificate of insurance within ten days of contract execution. All submittals must be uploaded electronically through the OpenGov Procurement portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/stpete.
