About this opportunity

The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is seeking a contractor to conduct an annual study on the availability of postconsumer recycled plastic in the market. The study aims to obtain data and information to substantiate the achievability of the minimum postconsumer recycled plastic content standards by beverage manufacturers and inform CalRecycle's decisions in the adjustment of the minimum postconsumer recycled plastic content standard requirement. The study will be conducted over an eighteen-month contract period and is critical to inform policy and programs targeted at closing the loop and moving toward a circular economy, with significantly less plastic waste ending up in landfills. The request for proposal (RFP) is applicable to the jurisdictions of Sacramento County and Sacramento City. Interested parties are advised to refer to the CalRecycle website at www.calrecycle.ca.gov/Contracts/ for further information.

The RFP does not provide information on any set-aside designations, restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, or any listed incumbent vendors or current contractors. Similarly, details on award values or budget ranges are not included in the provided documents. Interested parties are encouraged to review the CalRecycle website for additional details on this contracting opportunity.
