About this opportunity

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for food service and ice skate shop concessions at multiple locations, specifically the Steriti Memorial Rink in Boston and the Kelly Outdoor Rink in Jamaica Plain. The RFP seeks qualified individuals, corporations, or business entities, either for-profit or non-profit, to operate, manage, and maintain the limited food and/or ice skate shop related concessions at these rink facilities. Key requirements include providing information on the proposing entity and related experience, the services to be provided, financial and budget information, and the proposed compensation to DCR. Proposals are due by September 25, 2015, and the evaluation process includes a site visit on September 14, 2015, written questions due by September 23, 2015, and interviews, if any, to be held on September 30, 2015. DCR reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals and to initiate negotiations with one or more proposers.

The RFP indicates that the minimum proposal required is $1,000 per year, and the successful proposer will receive a license in the form of a permit to operate the concession for a term of 1 to 5 years. Two previous awards were made for this contract - one to Friends of Kelly Rink and another to Families Facing Addiction, Inc. The Commonwealth expressed appreciation to all who participated in the successful completion of this solicitation and encouraged watching the COMMBUYS site for other opportunities offered by DCR.
