About this opportunity
Dane County is requesting proposals from qualified architectural and engineering firms to provide design services and construction phase support for the Dane County Job Center and Northport Offices Remodel, with proposals due November 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The project is delivered through two separate bid packages, one per building location.
The scope encompasses three program components: relocation of the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) into the Dane County Job Center at 1819 Aberg Avenue, integration of the Veterans Service Office into the same facility, and renovation of reunification and visitation spaces at the Dane County Human Services Northport Offices at 1202 Northport Drive, both in Madison, Wisconsin. The ADRC remodel includes approximately 3,130 square feet with demolition of existing interior walls, new bathroom facilities featuring an adult changing station, office spaces, reception areas, multiple client meeting rooms, waiting areas, and storage. The Veterans Service Office allocation ranges from 325.38 to 407.51 square feet depending on final configuration. The Northport component involves renovation of existing and new reunification and visitation rooms within waiting areas, with final partition locations and building system modifications to be developed during design. Consultants must coordinate across structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, telecommunications, and security systems, verify existing building conditions, evaluate all building systems, and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and accessibility requirements.
Qualified proposers must demonstrate documented experience with public-sector renovation projects and capacity to manage projects of similar scope and complexity. Services will be performed under a negotiated professional services agreement. Two non-mandatory pre-proposal site meetings are scheduled for October 21, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. (Aberg Avenue) and 10:30 a.m. (Northport Drive). All questions are due October 28, 2026. Contract value and funding source are not specified in the RFP materials.
