About this opportunity
The Nevada Department of Public Safety, Nevada State Police, through the Nevada State Purchasing Division, is soliciting quotes under informal solicitation 65DPS-S4060 for calibration, repair, inspection, and certification of Haenni and Intercomp semi-portable and portable scales for the Highway Patrol Division in Las Vegas, with quotes due November 19, 2026. Vendors must hold a valid Nevada state business license that matches their nevadaepro.com registration before contract execution, agree not to boycott Israel for the contract duration, and accept Nevada law on contract disputes and state indemnity.
Technicians and facilities must hold certifications for inspecting, calibrating, and repairing Haenni and Intercomp scales. The contractor supplies all labor, equipment, and materials, maintains inventory of common failure items, and works to Nevada Bureau of Weights and Measures requirements. Repairs must be completed within three weeks, and certification and calibration within one week, with extensions requiring written approval from the Division's Commercial Lieutenant. Outsourced repairs at manufacturer-authorized facilities require a written quote and Division approval before work begins. The Division reimburses time and materials plus freight, and contractor facilitation time is billed at the hourly repair rate, capped at one hour unless the Commercial Lieutenant approves more. Division personnel handle scale pickup and delivery. Vendors must submit a completed cost schedule in the prescribed format, and general liability and workers' compensation certificates are required before work begins.
Evaluation weights six technical factors: facilities and technician certifications with equipment (25 percent), turnaround times and replacement parts availability (25 percent), at least three years of direct experience calibrating and certifying portable vehicle scales for law enforcement or regulatory agencies (20 percent), past performance and references from government or law enforcement agencies (15 percent), clear pricing structure for all services and fees (10 percent), and cost (5 percent). Vendors must submit two reference questionnaires from existing clients to Kasen Cornmesser at k.cornmesser@dps.state.nv.us, with the solicitation number in the subject line, by November 30, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The State intends to award one contract with an expected four-year term. Invoices are submitted monthly to the Highway Patrol fiscal mailbox with service reports attached.
