About this file
This Scope of Work document, issued by the Nevada Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division, outlines requirements for contracted vendors to provide semi-portable and portable scale repair and calibration services. The contractor must supply all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to repair, replace, and calibrate the Division's scales on an as-needed basis, with replacement materials matching existing specifications or current equivalents. The contractor is required to maintain adequate inventory of common failure items to meet Division repair timeframes and must ensure all work complies with scale manufacturer specifications and Nevada Bureau of Weights and Measures requirements. Technicians and facilities must hold appropriate certifications for inspecting, calibrating, and repairing Haenni and Intercomp scales. Repairs must be completed within three weeks, while certification and calibration work must be completed within one week, with written approval from the Division's Commercial Lieutenant required for any extensions. Division personnel will handle delivery and pickup of scales from the contractor's facility.
For outsourced repairs to Loadmeter or other manufacturer-authorized facilities for Haenni scales, or to Intercomp or other authorized facilities for Intercomp scales, the contractor must obtain a written quote and Division approval prior to proceeding. The Division will reimburse time and materials plus freight charges for outsourced work, with contractor facilitation time billed at the hourly repair rate not to exceed one hour unless specifically approved by the Commercial Lieutenant. Monthly invoices must be submitted to nhpfiscal@dps.state.nv.us and include invoice number, date, location, service date, and corresponding service reports. The contract specifies no particular pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent information, or funding amounts within this scope of work document.
