About this opportunity

The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction is seeking a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm for the Mays Business School Building 3 project located in College Station, Texas. The selected firm will provide comprehensive pre-construction and construction services, including constructability guidance, cost estimations, and detailed construction schedules. The project involves constructing a sophisticated academic facility featuring classrooms, instructional labs, Flex Online Studios, student and community spaces, food service facilities, administrative offices, and advanced extended reality (XR) stages with cutting-edge audio/video and augmented/virtual reality technology. Proposals must be submitted electronically via eBuilder by 2:00 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, January 8, 2026, with no exceptions for late submissions. The selection process will follow Texas Education Code 51.782(e), with respondents ranked based on best value to the owner according to published selection criteria. Interviews of qualified CMAR firms may be conducted at the owner's discretion. Interested parties should direct any questions to Chase Miller at (979) 458-7064 or chase.miller@tamus.edu.

The procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The Planning Amount for the project is $192,000,000, with $130,252,944 available for the construction contract, and the remaining balance allocated for fees, furnishings, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies. The project scope also includes abatement and demolition of the existing Adriance Lab and Adriance Recycle Center. Exterior elements of the project will include covered seating areas with electrical outlets, outdoor dining spaces, bicycle parking, and pedestrian connections to the existing Mays Business Education Complex. All documentation and addendums must be accessed and completed within the eBuilder platform, with addendums posted exclusively on that site and not on the ESBD posting. The comprehensive nature of the project suggests a preference for experienced CMAR firms with demonstrated capabilities in complex academic and technology-focused construction projects.
