About this opportunity
The City of Nahunta, located in Berrien County, Georgia, is soliciting sealed bids for a Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) project focused on road infrastructure improvements. The procurement specifically involves leveling and resurfacing 0.26 miles of Brooker Street and Roosevelt Street, with bidders required to provide all necessary materials, labor, tools, and equipment. Bids will be received until 11:00 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Nahunta City Hall, with a public bid opening immediately following. Contractors must submit a bid bond representing 5% of the total bid amount and demonstrate prequalification with the Georgia Department of Transportation or obtain prior written approval. The project has a strict completion timeline of 90 consecutive calendar days, and successful bidders will be required to execute a contract and provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount. Evaluation will be based on identifying the lowest responsible bidder after a comprehensive review of all submitted proposals.
There are no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions mentioned in the procurement documents. Bidders must obtain project specifications from Statewide Engineering for a fee ($100 for printed set, $50 for PDF), and the project will adhere to Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications (2021 Edition) and Supplemental Specifications (2024 Edition). While no incumbent vendors are identified, the city reserves the right to reject all bids, waive informalities, and modify contract terms. Bidders cannot withdraw their proposals for 60 days following the bid opening. Although a precise budget range is not specified, the project is funded through the Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG), suggesting municipal infrastructure investment funds will support the roadway improvements. Proposals can be submitted via mail to Tom Wirth, City Manager, at P.O. Box 156, Nahunta, Georgia 31553, or hand-delivered to 9911 Main Street North, Nahunta, Georgia 31553.
