About this opportunity
The City of Edgerton, Wisconsin is seeking proposals from contractors for an asphalt milling and overlay project involving multiple city streets. The procurement involves two primary work types: milling 2 inches of asphalt and overlaying 2.25 inches of hot mix asphalt on Cherry Street and East Hubert Street, and pulverizing, grading, and resurfacing with 3 inches of asphalt on three sections of Nunn Bush Street. The total project encompasses approximately 4,956 linear feet across five street segments with widths ranging from 28 to 40 feet. Contractors must demonstrate experience by providing evidence of three completed municipal street or road projects within 30 miles of Edgerton that have lasted a minimum of three winters. Proposals are due by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, and can be submitted either via sealed hard copy or email to hmoser@cityofedgerton.com. Evaluation criteria include cost, schedule, and overall value, with the City reserving the right to reject any or all bids. Contractors must comply with Wisconsin Department of Transportation Standard Specifications and be responsible for traffic control, quality assurance testing, and surface preparation.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types were mentioned in the procurement documents. The project does not indicate any incumbent vendors or mandatory technology integrations. While no precise budget range was specified, contractors will be required to submit lump sum cost proposals per street using the provided bid form. Payment terms include compensation within 30 days of invoice approval by the Municipal Services Director. Successful bidders must provide a certificate of insurance prior to commencing work and will be subject to performance monitoring by the City's Department of Public Works. The City reserves the right to increase, decrease, or modify the project scope and adjust schedules based on weather conditions. Contractors will also need to provide detailed proposals including firm experience, equipment specifications, proposed schedules, and completed bid forms to be considered for the contract.
