About this opportunity
The California State Parks Northern Buttes District is seeking a contractor for the Installation of Wildlife Resistant Containers (Contract C24645013), spanning multiple jurisdictions including Butte, Shasta, Sutter, Tehama, and Trinity Counties. The procurement involves supplying and installing 703 wildlife-resistant food storage lockers, 227 dual-chute trash/mixed recycle receptacles, 27 custom laser-cut art dual-chute receptacles, and 56 triple-chute receptacles across seven state park locations: Castle Crags, McArthur-Burney Falls, Woodson Bridge, Clear Lake, Lake Oroville, Bidwell-Sacramento River, and Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Areas. The contractor will be responsible for installing 952 new units and removing 287 existing units, primarily using pole-mount installation methods with some alternative approaches to be determined collaboratively with Parks staff. A mandatory pre-bid teleconference is scheduled for February 4, 2025, at 10 AM, and final bids are due March 3, 2025, at 2 PM. Bidders must attend the entire mandatory teleconference to be eligible to submit a bid, and all units must be IGBC-certified and ADA-compliant.
The contract offers a 5% small business preference for certified small businesses or those subcontracting 25% to certified small businesses. The Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation requirement has been waived, though the DVBE incentive still applies. The estimated contract value is $2,176,070.00, with a contract term anticipated from May 1, 2025, through April 1, 2027. Contractors must coordinate closely with park staff and schedule installations to minimize disruption during high-traffic visitor periods. The project requires precise attention to installation details, including specific mounting techniques, labeling requirements, and proper removal of existing infrastructure. Successful bidders will need to demonstrate capability in outdoor installation, familiarity with park environments, and ability to work within the specified technical and logistical constraints of multiple state park locations.
