About this opportunity
The State of Maine is requesting bids for an aviation GPS package installation on two aircraft, with bids due July 24, 2013.
The first aircraft is a Beechcraft N185SL requiring installation of a Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck system with dual 10-inch touchscreen displays, integrated autopilot, engine monitoring, traffic awareness and avoidance system (TAAS), and weather radar. The second aircraft is a 1979 Cessna A185F based at Greenville Municipal Airport (3B1) requiring installation of a Garmin AERA560 GPS, Garmin GMA340 audio panel, Garmin GTN650 GPS/Nav/Comm/WAAS system, Garmin GI106A Nav CDI, Garmin GNC255 Nav/Comm, TCI SSD120-30N-RS232 encoder, and dual Comant CI121 comm antennas. The Cessna work includes removal and labeling of existing equipment (King KMA 24 audio panel, dual King KX-155 Nav/Comm units, Garmin 150 GPS, Sigtronics four-place intercom, and Garmin 695 GPS panel mount) with all removed equipment returned upon completion.
Both installations must comply with FAA requirements including manufacturers' STC/AML specifications for IFR installation with applicable FMS and Form 337 documentation. The Cessna installation requires altimeter replacement, transponder certification per FAR Part 43 Appendix F and 91.413, and static pressure system testing per FAR 91.411, with updated equipment lists and three weight and balance amendments as deliverables. The Cessna may be transported to any Maine location within 100 nautical miles of Greenville Municipal Airport; ferry costs beyond that distance will be considered in bid evaluation. Additional repairs to static systems, altimeter replacement, or transponder antenna and cabling work not included in the quoted price will be billed separately with prior approval. Funding is provided through Maine's aviation infrastructure budget.
