About this file

This is a technical specifications document for an avionics GPS package installation on a Beechcraft N185SL aircraft for the State of Maine. The project involves the installation of a Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck system, which includes dual 10-inch touchscreen displays, integrated autopilot, engine monitoring, traffic awareness and avoidance system (TAAS), and weather radar capabilities. The system is designed to modernize the aircraft's navigation and situational awareness capabilities to meet current instrument flight rules (IFR) standards. The installation will include configuration of all necessary sensors, antennas, and avionics components to ensure full system integration and operational capability. The scope encompasses equipment procurement, installation labor, system testing, and certification coordination to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements.

The specifications detail comprehensive system requirements including display configurations, autopilot functionality, and integration with the aircraft's existing electrical and structural systems. The document outlines technical parameters such as display resolution, processing capabilities, and database update protocols. Installation requirements address power distribution, cooling systems, and electromagnetic compatibility considerations. The project requires coordination with FAA certification processes and may necessitate specific test flights and performance validation. Funding for this project would be provided through Maine's aviation infrastructure budget, with the total cost dependent on final equipment specifications, labor rates, and any required modifications to the aircraft's existing systems.
