About this opportunity

The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is certifying sole-source procurement for Duke TAMS (Teaching Assignment Management Software) renewal under RFx 3150007000, with objections due by September 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time. This is a sole-source procurement with no competitive bidding; Duke University is the identified sole provider of Duke TAMS and all related support services.

Duke TAMS is proprietary software designed for higher education that uses algorithms to match instructors with courses based on teaching history, expertise, teaching preferences, and availability while applying the school's workload formula. UMMC operates this system for the School of Nursing, which serves over 850 undergraduate through doctoral students and employs over 77 full-time and part-time faculty. UMMC has determined Duke TAMS is the only software product of its kind available on the higher education market.

The estimated three-year contract renewal cost is $60,000. UMMC conducted market intelligence comparisons and pursued available discounts to validate this pricing as reasonable and consistent with market comparisons for comparable products. The contract term spans three years. UMMC reserves the right to increase spending authority if additional enhancements, upgrades, support, or equipment are deemed within scope during the certification period and will determine whether recertification is necessary if Duke University changes its name during performance.

Interested parties wishing to object to the sole-source certification must submit a completed Vendor Form and Objection Certification to solesource@umc.edu by the September 28 deadline. UMMC will post a Notice of Award or No Award on September 28. Questions should be directed to solesource@umc.edu. First advertisement occurred September 14, 2026; second advertisement is scheduled for September 21, 2026.
