About this file
This is a Notice of Intent to Certify Sole Source from the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) for the renewal of Duke Teaching Assignment Management Software (Duke TAMS). UMMC intends to award the renewal to Duke University, the sole provider of this specialized software product. Duke TAMS is a teaching assignment management system designed specifically for higher education that uses proprietary algorithms to match instructors with courses based on teaching history, expertise, preferences, and availability while applying the school's workload formula. The software is essential for UMMC's School of Nursing, which serves over 850 students at undergraduate through doctoral levels with 77 full-time and part-time faculty. The first advertisement was published September 14, 2026, with a second advertisement on September 21, 2026. The response deadline for objectors is September 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time, with the Notice of Award/No Award to be posted the same date. Interested parties may submit objections using the required Vendor Form and Objection Certification to solesource@umc.edu prior to the deadline.
The estimated amount for the three-year renewal contract is $60,000.00, which UMMC determined to be reasonable and within the expected price range for such products. UMMC conducted market intelligence comparisons and pursued available discounts to obtain the best possible pricing. Duke University is the sole provider of Duke TAMS and all related support services and development. UMMC notes that if additional enhancements, upgrades, support, or equipment are deemed necessary during the certification period, spending authority may be increased accordingly. UMMC will determine whether recertification is necessary if Duke University changes its name during the contract period. Objections must be received by the specified deadline; responses received after the deadline or lacking required information will be rejected.
