The project scope encompasses construction of a 3,246-square-foot stand-alone pole building (3,000 square feet first floor, 246 square feet mezzanine) for equipment and material storage at DNR Headquarters. Work includes excavation, engineered fill and coarse stone fill installation, chain link fencing, relocation and replacement of fuel storage tanks with new concrete slab, relocation of trash compactor with new ramp and infrastructure, and all site work and utilities. The structure will be non-occupied utility construction to Michigan Building Code 2021 standards, construction type V-B, without sprinkler or fire alarm systems. Unit-price bidding applies to excavation, fills, and fencing; contractors must engage a soils engineer for foundation monitoring and comply with MBC Section 1700 special inspection requirements.

Substantial completion is August 30, 2027, with a 60-calendar-day contract period from Notice-to-Proceed. Liquidated damages are $500 per calendar day for delays. Bid security of 5% of base bid is required, along with mandatory performance and payment bonds. The base bid includes a $50,000 provisionary allowance and $25,000 utility allowance. Prevailing wage and State Project Registration per 2023 PA 10 are mandatory. Commercial general liability insurance must carry minimum $1 million per occurrence with the State as additional insured. Questions are due October 30, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. directed to Randy Sova II at rsova@wtaarch.com. Bids must be submitted electronically through SIGMA VSS with maximum two attachments (25 MB each).
