About this opportunity

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is seeking a 3-year contract for the purchase and delivery of approximately 90 hitch-mounted cone deployment apparatuses on an as-needed basis. The desired equipment must be a "plug and play" solution that can be easily installed without tools, with a 2" box receiver, 7-way RV plug for DOT and warning lights, and bumper-mounted stabilizing outriggers. The apparatus must meet specific technical requirements, including a 72"-78" lightweight aluminum frame, minimum 350 lb weight capacity, adjustable travel and working height, integrated lighting and safety features, and a powdercoat exterior finish in red or orange. The contract has a response deadline of September 20, 2024, and delivery is due by September 25, 2024. The contract will be applicable across multiple jurisdictions in Tennessee, including Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, and Lake counties, as well as the cities of Chattanooga and Knoxville.

The RFP requires bidders to provide unit pricing for the requested equipment, submit documentation demonstrating compliance with state sales and use tax requirements, and detail their efforts to achieve diversity business participation. There are no set-asides or incumbent contractors mentioned in the RFP, and the contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest unit price. Funding for the contract will come from TDOT's budget, but no specific dollar amounts are provided.
