About this opportunity
The State of Texas is seeking organizations to enroll in Project SEARCH, an international workforce-development partnership program for individuals with disabilities, with enrollment applications due February 9, 2027. Project SEARCH is not a traditional procurement but rather an open-enrollment initiative inviting businesses, school districts, vocational rehabilitation agencies, and related service providers to participate in a collaborative model.
Participating organizations commit to structured, year-long immersion programming in which students with intellectual and developmental disabilities complete Asset Discovery assessment, rotate through three unpaid internships within the partner business or organization, and receive employment-placement assistance to secure permanent, competitive, integrated employment. The program design emphasizes skill development in actual workplace environments and long-term job sustainability rather than temporary or sheltered placements.
No fixed contract value, service fee, or financial exchange is specified in the solicitation description. The scope centers on organizational capacity to host internship rotations, provide workplace mentorship and skills training, and coordinate with participating vocational rehabilitation agencies and school districts on student placement and employment outcomes. Eligibility and participation requirements, evaluation criteria, and any cost-sharing or support mechanisms are not detailed in the available description.
