About this opportunity
Marion County Solid Waste (Florida) is requesting bids on waste tire transportation and disposal services under ITB 26B-098, with proposals due July 9, 2026. The County intends to award a minimum of two vendors on a two-year contract with three annual renewal options, which is a material constraint on vendor competition and anticipated volume allocation.
The scope covers transportation and disposal of waste tires collected at the Marion County Solid Waste Baseline Landfill, including passenger, truck, off-road, equipment tires, and rubber tracks from both residential and commercial sources. All contractors must be licensed and compliant with applicable Florida regulations governing waste tire transportation and disposal.
Bidders must submit at least three unique references documenting similar work previously completed, with each reference providing entity name, address, phone number, point of contact, email, and a description of scope applicability. Reference letters are mandatory and will be scored on whether work was completed on-time, within contracted budget, in accordance with scope, and in a professional manner. Contractors must maintain Workers' Compensation insurance, Commercial General Liability of $1 million per occurrence, and Business Automobile Liability of $500,000 combined single limit. All submissions must be uploaded through Marion County's Bonfire e-procurement portal; alternative submission methods are rejected as non-responsive. Pricing must be submitted on a lump sum or unit price basis as specified in the bid form, with prices firm for the contract duration unless price adjustments are approved by the County Board (limited to one request per calendar year and only for circumstances beyond the contractor's control). Payment terms are Net 45 days, with delivery FOB Destination to Ocala, Florida including inside delivery. Award is targeted within 60 calendar days of the bid deadline, and bids remain valid for 90 calendar days after submission. Prime contractors must disclose all subcontractors and suppliers, with the County reserving the right to accept or reject proposed subcontractors based on past performance, location, or other grounds.
